Kate McGlynn, aka Katy BEE, has a BFA in interdisciplinary art from the San Francisco Art Institute and has an MBA from University of Maryland University College.  She has been found over the last 20 years in the United States, Canada, Hawaii, and Europe on stages, castles, big screens, small screens, streets, national events and at local birthday parties. She attended circus school in Spain where she specialized in acro-balance and clowning. She studied Zen Clown with Moshe Cohen, founder of Clowns without Borders.

In high school and college, she won leadership awards, and later won first place in Barcelona for a human statue. Recently she has won "Best of 2016 and 2017" gigmasters.com awards.

She loves languages. Katy BEE can entertain in Spanish fluently, French pretty well, and just for fun, she collects phrases in German, Italian, Hindi, Urdu, Farsi, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and Korean, to share with the kids their parents heritage or simply global culture.

Her Clown Kung Fu act takes kids through a follow-the-leader game that incorporates many languages. The children get to learn and teach language during the activity, if they speak something other than English.

Since her teens, she has worked with children and adults, from creating events with school boards to touring with Brainstormers elementary school theatre troupe throughout the mid-west. Her focus is on empowerment, fairness, and creativity, using chicago style improvisation as an influence to help the kids access their creativity. The parents are always welcome to participate in any activity as well! :)
